Hello and welcome to the tutorial for how to use our tool to upload race results to TalkCycling.
Here is the short version:
and you are done.
For the full version please read the following
First of all you'll need a Fubra Passport account and be signed up to TalkCycling. You can do this by clicking on the signup link at the top right hand corner of the page. If you are already a member of the site then you'll need to make sure you are logged in.
Next up you'll have to add the event. You can do this for past or for future events. Click on the Race Reports link on the top of the left hand menu. Then you'll be faced with eight sections where the race can go, check no-one else has uploaded that race and if they haven't click on the + sign next to the section. There you'll find be asked to put in the event name, date, location, post code (optional - this'll be so in the future we could put a map of all the events) race promoter and then an optional report. Once you do this you can upload the results.
If you are doing it as a spreadsheet then this is how it should look
To upload the results you'll need to write up the results and save them in a .csv file. A .csv file is one where all the results are separated by commas. You can write this in a text file as below or in Excel as above. In Excel if you want to leave a column blank then you'll have to put a space in all the box you want to keep blank, just like I have done in the 'catagory' column. For example the Fubra Sunday Sprint was uploaded using the following:
1,Matt Godwin,16,Fubra,1:07:03, 2,Harry Ford,9,Fubra,1:08:17, 3,Nick Haines,18,Fubra,1:08:54, 4,Rowan Doherty,23,Boomerang,1:09:17, 5,Louise Doherty,24,Boomerang,1:10:09, 6,Jon Shanks,21,Fubra,1:12:17, 7,Matthew Dunham,28,Fubra,1:14:45, 8,Matthew Ward,26,Fubra,2:24:32,
The first entry will always be position, then full name, race number, cycle club, time and then category. If for instance you didn't want the race number field then just put two commas like so:
1,Matt Godwin,,Fubra,1:07:03, 2,Harry Ford,,Fubra,1:08:17, 3,Nick Haines,,Fubra,1:08:54, 4,Rowan Doherty,,Boomerang,1:09:17, 5,Louise Doherty,,Boomerang,1:10:09, 6,Jon Shanks,,Fubra,1:12:17, 7,Matthew Dunham,,Fubra,1:14:45, 8,Matthew Ward,,Fubra,2:24:32,
If a rider did not finish the race, you can show this by setting the rider position to blank or 0. Both examples below will show a rider as DNF (Did Not Finish):
,Matt Godwin,,Fubra,, 0,Matt Godwin,,Fubra,,
If a time is posted, this needs to be formatted like this - hh:mm:ss.
By doing this you'll have the table of results, but if you want to have other fields and find it easier to just put the results in the race report section then by all means go for it. If you have any questions then please Get In Touch.
